Community Cares Program

Riverland Energy is pleased to provide financial support to community programs through our Community Cares program. This is a member fund from volunteers who round up their monthly electric bill.

The monies are then combined into our Community Cares fund to be distributed by Riverland Energy Cooperative members.

How much do members contribute?

Annual contributions per member average $6, but could potentially be up to $12.

What will the money be used for?

Contributions are generally awarded to non-profit programs, projects and organizations that improve the quality of life in our local communities and emphasize: public safety, health care, self-sufficiency, basic human needs, community leadership and social issues for youth. Only one grant per year will be awarded to an organization.

Unless your project benefits the overall community, contributions are generally not awarded to: lobbying, political, religious, veteran or fraternal organizations; fundraising dinners, raffles or events; capital fund campaigns; scholarship programs; national fund drives or advertising; or paying members bills.

How do I sign up?

Please note all contributions are tax deductible.

Who administers the fund?

Riverland Energy Cooperative has a designated board of directors for the Community Cares funds. It's made up of Riverland Energy Cooperative board members.
